Student Housing Japan (hereinafter "Operator") establishes the following privacy policy (hereinafter "Policy") regarding the handling of user information, including personal information, of users (hereinafter "Users") of the service provided by this site (hereinafter "Service").

This Policy applies to all personal information acquired and used by the Operator and sets forth the Operator's basic guidelines for the protection of personal information.

Article 1 (User Information Acquired and Acquisition Method)

The Operator acquires the following information from Users in the provision of the Service:

Information Provided Directly by Users

• Name, email address, telephone number, and other information entered by the User in inquiry forms, etc.
• Legal documentation and supplementary information provided by the User in the course of applying for a property using our online service

Information Acquired Automatically in Connection with Use of the Service

• Cookie information
• IP address
• Access logs (pages viewed, date/time of use, usage environment, etc.)
• Device information (OS, browser type, device-specific IDs, etc.)

Article 2 (Purpose of Use)

The Operator will appropriately use the acquired User information within the scope of the following purposes:

• To provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
• To respond to inquiries, consultations, requests, etc., from Users.
• To notify Users of changes to the Terms of Service, this Policy, etc.
• For analysis of the usage of the Service, creation of statistical data, and marketing research.
• To ensure the security of the Service, and to prevent and investigate fraudulent use.
• To link or provide User information to third parties (licensed real estate brokers, hereinafter "Information Providers") who provide real estate information listed on the Service, based on the specific request of the User.
• For all other operations incidental to the above purposes of use.

Article 3 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)

The Operator will not provide acquired personal information to a third party (including those located outside Japan) without the User's prior consent, except in cases permitted under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI) and other laws. However, this does not apply to the following cases:

When User information is provided (either via the Operator or directly) to an Information Provider in accordance with Article 2, Paragraph 6, as a result of the User utilizing a specific function on the Service (e.g., clicking a "Inquire about this property" button, transitioning to the Information Provider's site, etc.).

• When required by law.
• When necessary to protect a person's life, body, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the User's consent.
• When particularly necessary for improving public health or promoting the sound growth of children, and it is difficult to obtain the User's consent.
• When necessary to cooperate with a state organ, a local government, or an individual or entity entrusted by one in executing affairs prescribed by law, and obtaining the User's consent is likely to impede the execution of such affairs.
• When User information is provided (either via the Operator or directly) to an Information Provider in accordance with Article 2, Paragraph 6, as a result of the User utilizing a specific function on the Service (e.g., clicking a "Inquire about this property" button, transitioning to the Information Provider's site, etc.).

Article 4 (Disclaimer Regarding Third-Party Provision)

In the event that User information is provided to an Information Provider in accordance with Article 3, Paragraph 5, said information shall be placed under the control of the Information Provider. The Operator assumes no responsibility whatsoever for the handling of personal information by the Information Provider (including any privacy policy independently established by said Information Provider).

Before agreeing to provide information to an Information Provider, Users shall confirm the Information Provider's own privacy policy and provide such information based on their own judgment and responsibility.

Article 5 (Security Management Measures)

The Operator shall implement necessary and appropriate measures (hereinafter "Security Management Measures") from organizational, human, physical, and technical perspectives to prevent the leakage, loss, or damage of personal information it handles, and for the otherwise secure management of personal information. Article 6 (Use of Cookies, etc.)

This Site uses Cookies and similar technologies to improve User convenience, analyze usage, and enhance the Service.

This Site may use "Google Analytics" provided by Google LLC or other analysis tools to understand and analyze the usage of the Service. These tools use Cookies to collect User information, but the information collected does not include personally identifiable information. Collected data is managed based on the privacy policies of the respective tool providers.

Users can disable Cookie functions by changing their browser settings. However, doing so may result in the inability to use some functions of the Service.

Article 7 (Disclosure, Correction, Suspension of Use, etc. of Personal Information)

When a request is made by the User (or their legitimate agent) for the disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, or erasure (hereinafter "Disclosure, etc.") of their own personal information held by the Operator, based on the provisions of the APPI, the Operator will, after verifying the User's identity, respond without delay in accordance with laws and regulations. However, this shall not apply if the Operator is not obligated to perform Disclosure, etc. under the law.

Article 8 (Changes to this Policy)

The Operator may revise the contents of this Policy as necessary, in response to amendments in laws, changes in business content, or otherwise.

When this Policy is changed, Users will be notified by posting on this Site or by other methods deemed appropriate by the Operator.

The revised Policy shall become effective at the time it is posted on this Site. If a User continues to use the Service after such changes, the User is deemed to have agreed to the revised Policy.
